President’s Blog vol.1 Self-Introduction

Does anyone know the name of the head of AXELL Inc.?

No one knows…. I know.

I heard his name is Otani. Yes, that’s my name.

Now, a memorable first post.

I think I’m going to write about something I don’t usually say in my interviews here.

Most ventures are full of appeals of “we’re cool ventures” or “we can change the world with our amazing services and solutions” but that’s not the information everyone wants to know.

I’m going to tell you the truth about the scenes that were difficult for me and the moments when I thought we were the best.

First of all, I won’t talk about AXELL Inc. because it’s boring.
Google it if you’re interested!

Oh, the company Otani created was Dendama, Inc. right?

Your memory is correct.

The company which I created in 2016 was Dendama Inc.

In December 2019, I founded AXELL Inc. And I acquired and integrated Dendama Inc.

You can guess why the company has changed.

I wish I could tell you somewhere else.

I will tell you about it, though, if you’re interested in starting a business.

First of all, we’ve started crowdfunding today.
Please support us all.

Of course I want to make Shibuya more exciting, but I also want to make money for DENDAMA&DARTS RE/D, which I run.

I mean, due to the coronavirus, we have no sales in April, May, and June.

If we don’t make sales, we can’t protect our employees.

I should introduce myself.

My hobbies are craft beer, skiing, snowboarding, YouTube and sleeping.

I like drinking in general.

If you want to have a drink with me, come to my bar!

My work includes looking at business plans, planning for scaling DENDAMA, and making tea for the employees.

I think it’s the same for every startup, but even if you’re the CEO, you can do anything you want.

That’s because there are not enough people.

If you can’t do everything yourself, you’re not the right person to start a business.

I think it’s actually pretty hard after starting a business.

I haven’t been able to do it at all either…

I want to keep working with these guys because they help me with what I’m not doing.

We need to increase our sales for that.

By the way, if you’re willing to do the work. You can have a drink at noon, eat ice cream, whatever you want!

Lately, I’ve been delighted to receive requests to speak at universities and entrepreneurial training facilities.

Some of them ask me to give a talk for free, but I don’t think it’s possible to give a talk for free to share my experience and knowledge.

But you guys still take money when you ask me to speak.

I’m just complaining about it, so I’ll stop myself.
